What is a PTA?
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a dedicated group of parents, teachers, and staff who work together to support and enhance the school community. The PTA plays a vital role in organising events to help fundraise for school programs and equipment. Through volunteer efforts, the PTA helps provide resources, enrich student learning, and build a strong sense of community.
The PTA is not just about fundraising. It create opportunities for parents and carers to be involved in the life of the school, get to know others and help create fun times for children. Recent events have included school discos, providing hot chocolate for ‘Books at Bedtime’ and providing drinks at assemblies and school events.
Joining the PTA is a great way to get involved, stay informed, and make a positive impact on your child’s education.
How Are PTA Funds Used?
The PTA collaborates closely with the school, especially the Headteacher, to ensure that the funds raised are used effectively to benefit all students. These funds help support a variety of initiatives, including contributing to school trips, organising fun and educational events, and purchasing new equipment and resources that enhance the learning environment. Every penny raised goes toward enriching the school experience and providing additional opportunities for all children.

We always welcome new members to the team, whether you can offer regular help or the odd hour or two.
We currently have a committee of 10 parents who communicate regularly and plan events and also a larger WhatsApp group of ‘PTA Helpers’ for anybody who is able to help out at events. We always need help at the Christmas and Summer Fairs and sometimes at other events throughout the year.
Meetings
We usually hold informal meetings in the evenings approximately bi-monthly and keep in touch online and informally in the playground! Once per year we hold an AGM at school.
All parents, carers, friends and staff are welcome to attend.
