Vision and Values

Journey together: Respect, empathy & friendship

Seaford Primary School is all about being inclusive and working together as a team - whether playing games, problem solving or performing in a show.

We believe in the importance of working with parents and carers who know their child the best.  We need to work together to help them thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

It’s not just about being a team, but going on an adventurous learning ’journey together’.  That's why we are promoting parental involvement in school life - from phonics workshops and musical performances to the recent VE Day street party and weekend iSpy along Seaford seafront.

This links to our school values of respect, empathy and friendship.

Work joyfully: Perseverance and enjoyment

As we journey together, we want to ‘LABORE GAUDEAMUS’ (our Latin motto) which means work joyfully’.

We want to help children to work hard in reading, writing, mathematics and across the curriculum and beyond.

We also want to offer an inspirational education.  It’s not just about working hard but having fun and being joyful. We want all children to love coming to school, have good mental health and enjoy life in all its fullness.  That's why our forest school, art, sport and music enrichment activities are so important to us.

Excel: Ambition

Finally, we want all children to ‘excel’.

We don’t want children to just excel academically but with whatever special gifts and talents they may have.  By the end of Year 6, we want all children to excel in their 'SATs' as well as the 'abc' of abseiling, barbequing and canoeing, and of course, our end of year performances.

We want them to truly flourish, not just at Seaford Primary School, but as they move up to their secondary school.

Our school value of ambition mirrors our aim for excellence.
